Another pane of glass has fallen from the ceiling onto one of the main walkways of the shopping centre. The incident is not thought to have caused any injuries and Westfield is to carry out an investigation into the incident.
A spokesman said initial investigations showed the glass had been broken by debris from the construction site for a cinema and added that action was being taken on the area of roof near the Sainsbury's store as well as other locations.
He said, "We are currently installing safety film on all glass panels in the areas of the centre and this work will be completed by the end of this month. In addition, we will also install netting above glass in areas adjacent to cinema construction."
Netting above glass? Wouldn't it be a good idea to put netting below glass as well?

An investigation is under way after glass fell from the roof of Westfield shopping centre (again!). A small piece of glass fell from the roof and landed on the floor.
No-one was hurt but several stores had to be closed off for repairs to take place.
It has not yet been confirmed what caused the glass to fall but it is thought scaffolding may have struck the roof during strong winds.
Centre manager Janine Bone said, "We are carrying out a full investigation into the incident and apologise for the disruption caused to our customers."

Well you all ways knew where you where in the old "Eagle Centre" it was always either rain water or some one Pi--ing on your head? My cousins husband earned his living by traveling from Birmingham to repair the bitumen on the old "Eagle Centre" roof for many years! So it may have been him doing the Pi--ing on you as he all ways said there where no toilets on the roof so if you had to go! "you had to go!"
